The Art Of Light Painting (Part 2)

The Art Of Light Painting (Part 1)

Why not try and take some fantastic photograph at home. With easy creativity and no need to buy expensive equipment, you still can create a great photo such as capturing indoors light trails. To create the light trails, all you need is a dark room and strong LED torch to “paint” with light during a long exposure.

Here there is several tips to sharing with, just make sure you have the following items as pictures below:

1. DSLR Camera

2. Sturdy tripod

3. Remote shutter released

4. Fine String

5. LED Torch

6. A piece of colored paper

7. A glass filled with water

8. A dark room

Set up a piece of colored paper to make a clean backdrop. As picture above, my colored paper was supported by table and wall. I used a water-filled glass to create refractions of light and put on the center of colored paper.

Set your DSLR camera on sturdy tripod, to create the light trail, experiment your shutter speed by setting up between 10-30 secs with appropriate an aperture. Start moving the torch which is suspended by a fine string within the frame before pressing the shutter.

To create a spiral around the glass, just make a gentle circular movement during exposure and raised the string so the spiral moved from the bottom to top. Enjoy!
